Janessa Taber has been photographing since she was about 6 years old with her first “Where’s Waldo” camera, gifted by her father, Donald Taber in 1990. Janessa continued her love for photography throughout High School until she graduated in 2001 from Yuba City High School. Janessa's love for the arts started when her younger sister, Ashley starred in Operas and Broadways in the Bay Area where Janessa was born and originally from. Janessa would watch how stage sets were created and painted. She paid close attention to details such as lighting and costumes. She applied each and every aspect of what she learned as a child, watching from the shadows of her sister's spotlight to her photography business and career. Janessa is also a self taught photographer and artist which leaves most of her customers inspired and in awe.  In 2004, Janessa entered a photography contest paid for by Proctor & Gamble's Charmin Toilet Paper, hosted by the Sacramento country radio station, 105.1 KNCI. Janessa won the grand prize of $5000.00 cash, throughout the entire Greater Sacramento Valley. It was this day she decided to start her photography business with the money she won. The photo starred her oldest daughter Kayleigh at a year old. Janessa has been commissioned by celebrities such as Jon Lovitz (Actor/Comedian), Kristy Osmunson (Country Singer from Bomshel), Angel Salazar (Actor/Comedian from the 1980’s movie, Scarface), MTV's “16 & Pregnant”, Farrah Abraham and Hollywood stunt actress, Michelle Elise Shock. Janessa has been credentialed by California Black Media and worked one on one with Assembly Member, Cheryl Brown.  Janessa has captured commercial work for Colusa Casino and Pardi Duck Calls. Janessa has also been voted in  “Yuba-Sutter’s Best” as a favorite Photographer, voted by The Appeal Democrat in 2008 and 2020. Janessa was voted Best of Biggs in 2017. Janessa is a multi-award winning photographer and her work has made the cover of serveral magazines including Sacramento Parent Magazine.  Janessa services hundreds of clients all over the country as far as New Jersey and even Mexico.  Janessa has been recognized and commisioned by new customers all across the United States for her custom backdrop paintings. She often creates and paints custom backdrops for clients wishing to receive something unique and different. Janessa proudly names each backdrop she paints after the babies and children she paints them for. She has been known to allow the parents/clients to sign their child's first name on the bottom right hand corner of the backdrops she paints near her own signature.
